Arts-based research, as we understand it, is an artistic encounter, an empiric way of gaining knowledge and developing methods based upon practice and intuition, understood as segmented and repeated experience. It is to include void and paradox into thinking and practice as a self-evident part of reality and its perception.
It needs the intersubjectively usable documentation of a reflecting process.

On this basis, science and art (as well as other fields such as crafts) become terms, which mark only an insignificant difference.
